02/22/2004: Mt. Haggin's X-C Ski area is probably the best in the state because of the nearly perfect snow conditions. It sits just about on the continental divide. I cross the divide on the way there (15 minute drive) from Anaconda. The trails are groomed on Saturday mornings by the X-C club out of Butte. Note the two grooves on the right side of the trail. This has replaced my weekend running completely. This morning I was alone out there in the quiet. I saw two squirrels, which scared me as much as I scared them. Sometimes I feel like I'm being stalked by mountain lions, but I'm sure it's just my imagination....
